ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
How to imptove processes and cut costs
The aim is to demonstrate, based on practical examples, how business process analysis and improvement helps to increase both effectiveness and efficiency of an organization. It can be applied in both public and private sector, in large and small organization. It is important to have proper mindset, aims, appropriate tools and consistency to achieve outstanding results.
Process management has been analyzed from different angles. However there are rather moderate results from these approaches. The presentation analyses, what is typically missing and what is clever to keep in mind. It shows with practical examples (both visually and with numeric representation) how process analysis and arising improvement projects help to cut costs and increase value for external customers and stakeholders, as well as for internal customers (employees). Process analysis and improvement approaches are combined with lean and 6 sigma approaches.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Tauno-Jussi Onoper is Chairman of TJO Konsultatsioonid, one of Estonian leading consulting companies. He is renowned consultant and trainer. At the end of 20th century Jussi was Councilor of Minister of Internal Affairs of Estonia.
Before establishing TJO Konsultatsioonid, Jussi worked as Quality and Marketing Manager in Tartu Maja Ltd., the second largest manufacturer of concrete based construction materials in Estonia, and as Quality Manager in Kodumajatehase Ltd., producer of timber-framed houses.
Jussi is currently Chairman of the Estonian Management Systems Technical Committee No. 33 (mirror committee of ISO/TC 176, ISO/TC 207, ISO/TMB/WG SR). He has been European Quality Award assessor (EFQM, SME category) over the span of 10 years, Estonian Quality Award program expert (trainer of assessors and organizations, supervisor of assessment teams), and senior assessor. He has participated also in Estonian Vocational Schools Quality Award program as expert and trainer of assessors and organizations, and in Estonian Quality Award for Public Organizations Pilot Project as expert. From 1996 –1998 Jussi held a position of Vice Chairman of Estonian Association for Quality, followed by post of Chairman from 1998 to 2001.
Jussi graduated University of Tartu with a degree of B.A. in Business Administration, concentrating on Marketing and Corporate Finance. He also passed there MBA program. Jussi has been recognized as ILM/SFEDI Accredited Business Support Professional. He has participated in large number of various trainings regarding strategic management, management systems, lean methods, 6 Sigma Black Belt, IRCA accredited auditor courses, EFQM assessor trainings, etc.
Jussi has experiences with more than 100 organisation development projects (aimed to analyse and improve business processes, to increase effectiveness and efficiency, to develop management systems, to plan and execute lean production, strategic planning and other projects). He has translated many management system standards and some books into Estonian language. He has held large number of various trainings, several presentations in conferences, and issued many articles.
