ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
Excellence Based Improvement Projects
There is a part in our mission saying that Czech Society for Quality brings foreign experience and know-how in the Czech Republic. For this purpose we form partnerships with prestigious organisations like EOQ, ASQ, VDA QMC or EFQM. We are an EFQM licenced partner organisation for the Czech Republic. In the spirit of philosophy of „organisational excellence“ we strive to be a good example for Czech organisations, therefore we decided to start our own journey towards excellence.
We chose the EFQM recognition scheme Committed to Excellence, as it provide us and other organisations with possibility to understand the basis of the EFQM Excellence Model in a simple and clear but also comprehensive form, which enable us to monitor our progress and results achieved for the very beginning.
RADAR logic and principles of continual improvement gave us inspiration in further work. For example, we created a methodology for implementing age management in the organisation in the spirit of this methodology, which was formed within the project „Age Management Strategy in the Czech Republic“, where we – as an educational institution – piloted this concept.
Our own improvement is in the phase of project implementation. However already now we could list benefits coming from our commitment to excellence. We have a detailed and complex overview of our performance, we identified tens of strengths and areas for improvement, we learnt how to prioritize, to plan project and above all we managed to form a team of people who are engaged in our improvement activities beyond their job duties.
Self-assessment and continual improvement will become a part of the management review and our day-to-day work (e.g. deployment of the RADAR logic), and we believe that with the application of the basic principles of excellence we can change our organisational culture, too. We expect this will be supported by a fact that among issues addressed there are review of our vision, mission and values, and creating a code of ethics for our members as well as for our people.
