ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
EFQM excellence model as the framework for evaluation of performance excellence of university
Since 2005, the Bologna signatories (including Czech Republic) have been faced with implementation of quality assurance principles. National accreditation agencies were established to assure the education quality at universities. But accreditation process is not about comprehensive quality assessment! To develop and verify methodology of comprehensive quality assurance and assessment is a main goal of special project „Quality Assurance and Evaluation in the System of Tertiary Education“, supported by Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports since 2010. Within this project, the EFQM Excellence Model was compared to 16 other approaches to quality assessment in universities applied throughout the world. The principal finding from this comparison is that the EFQM Excellence Model can valuably represent the most comprehensive framework also for quality assurance and quality assessment in higher education area. Adapted assessment criteria as well as designed methodology of comprehensive quality assessment of higher schools and universities will be presented there. Some lessons learned from pilot testing of this methodology at eleven Czech universities (performed last year) will be discussed too.
