ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
Role of excellence models in national quality policy of Estonia: experience 1993 -2013
The excellence models have been viewed as an essential element of national quality policy of Estonia in different phases of its development  during last two decades. The  Estonian Association for Quality has been among key promoters of development and implementation of quality awards /  excellence models, and in this papers some elements of related experience are considered. The role of excellence models in national quality promotion and competitiveness and some methodological issues of development of award schemes and  excellence models are discussed. Implementation experience considered includes basic national award scheme, different sectoral models and recognition schemes.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Andres Kiitam is Professor of Quality Engineering and Head of Chair of Quality Engineering and Metrology in Tallinn University of Technology from 1997, earlier being there Associate Professor in 1992-97. In 1987-1992 he was Head of Process Control Laboratory in  Tallinn University of Technology, earlier being there Research Associate in 1974-1987. He has been member of the board of Estonian Association for Quality in 1991-2004 and chairman of Jury of Estonian Excellence Award from 2002. In 1995 - 2006 he was member of the Editorial Board of Business Process Management Journal (UK).
